Lori Ketover, LMSW, is a licensed Social Worker, Certified Focusing Trainer and Founder/Director of the Long Island Focusing Center located in Woodbury, NY, USA. She has over 10 years experience working with children, adults, parents and educators, individually and in groups in schools, hospitals, and community settings.
Lori also coordinates the international Focusing Partnership Program for the Focusing Institute, in Spring Valley, NY, USA. This worldwide community based program offers people the opportunity to learn and practice focusing over the phone.
Lori was introduced to Focusing during her social work training at New York University. Deeply touched by the process, Lori has dedicated herself to the Focusing approach and has done all that she can to continue practicing and sharing it with others. Lori’s passion for learning and sharing is evident whether in the classroom with children or presenting her work to international groups of educators and other professionals.
Recently, Lori presented a workshop in Israel at the 19th International Focusing Conference called “Bringing Focusing to Children K-2nd Grade". The workshop was well received by parents, educators and other professionals.
This presentation grew out of her work in a local nursery classroom with colleague, Bonnie Grubman, educator, storyteller and published author. (Learn more)
This workshop has now developed into a series for children (K-5th grade) and educators. It is currently being offered in public and private schools, libraries, and the Long Island Focusing Center.
Lori finds the practice of Focusing to be one of the most valuable ways to support healthy living and continues to find ways to integrate it into her daily living.
